Therapeutic Approach

My aim is to create a safe, non-judgmental and collaborative therapeutic space. The therapist-client relationship is an integral part of the therapeutic process, and although the nature of therapy means that the process is not always easy, I would like my clients to feel comfortable and respected. I work from an eclectic, holistic perspective. Psychodynamic theory, cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), Eye-Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and mindfulness form the primary practical and theoretical foundations of my work. I am also trained in BrainWorking Recursive Therapy (BWRT).

Choosing the right therapist for you

Choosing a therapist can be a daunting task. We are all different individuals and what goes on in one therapy room might be very different from another. Choosing someone you feel comfortable with is very important. Don’t give up on therapy because of one bad or unhelpful experience. Here and here and here are some tips on how to choose a therapist.

If you would like to get a better sense of whether I am the right therapist for you before making an appointment, please feel free to contact me to schedule a free 10-15 minute telephonic consultation. If it is clear that what you need is beyond my areas of expertise, I will try to refer you to another appropriate professional.
